And you thought that Only God Forgives was a little strange?
Ryan Gosling makes his directorial debut with the fantasy thriller Lost River (previously titled How to Catch a Monster), in which his Drive co-star Christina Hendricks plays a woman named Billy who finds herself in the city's underbelly while her son (Iain De Caestecker) discovers a lost underwater town. The teaser trailer (above) features Doctor Who star Matt Smith (whose character is aptly named Bully) tormenting De Caestecker as he demands him (and the audience?) to "Look at my muscles!"

Angelina Jolie Perfected ‘Maleficent’ Voice on Her Kids

Angelina Jolie perfected her voice for Maleficent while bathing her kids.
The 38-year-old star tried out a number of different way of talking with her brood - Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, seven, and twins Knox and Vivienne, five - to perfect the way she should talk as the evil queen in the new Disney movie:
"I would give them baths and I would try different voices on them, on different nights. I would tell them stories in different voices and sometimes they would kind of go, 'That's a weird voice mom, why are you doing that?' When I did the one they all started laughing and made me do it over and over again and that's how I discovered her voice because I thought, it had to be a voice that is just fun to listen to and get really crazy."
Although Angelina and her fiance Brad Pitt don't want their children to go into acting, they allowed Vivienne to play a young Princess Aurora in the movie, but getting her to do what they wanted on set proved harder than they initially realized.

With $93.1 million earned at the box office this weekend, the latest Godzilla seems to justify Hollywood's thirst for remaking every film previously made.
Having (easily) clawed its way to the top, Godzilla bumped last week's number one film, Neighbors, down to number two with its $25 million. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 also fell one spot to number three with $16.8 million while Million Dollar Arm debuted at number four with $10.5 million. The Other Woman fell two spots to number five with $6.3 million.

Robin Wright: Hollywood Is Hard if You Have Integrity
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Casting, Celebrity Gossip,
Robin Wright thinks that Hollywood is a difficult place "if you have integrity."
The House of Cards star refused to take "wife and arm candy" roles which would have raised her profile, and instead concentrate on raising her daughter Dylan, 23, and son Hopper, 20, with ex-husband Sean Penn while waiting for a properly engaging part to play.
"Hollywood is difficult to navigate if you have integrity, so I opted not to work if there wasn't enough to do in a role, which doesn't have to do with the role's size. If there's nothing for me to do as an actress, that's frustrating ... I'd rather go work at a menial labor job, where I can actually get my hands dirty," she said.
The 48-year-old actress admits her decision to stand back had an affect on her, adding, "In a sense it hurts, because you're like, 'I want to play too!' I just don't want to play that way. I'm not up there with Kate Winslet and Julia Roberts. I don't sell tickets. I've known that for a long time."

Harrison Ford Approached for ‘Blade Runner’ Sequel

Harrison Ford has been approached to appear in a sequel to Blade Runner.
The 71-year-old action movie star is being sought to reprise his role as bounty hunter Rick Deckhard in a sequel to the sci-fi classic, originally released in 1982. Already on board with the project are Ridley Scott, who directed the original movie, and Hampton Fancher, who adapted the screenplay from Philip K. Dick's book Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove, founders of Alcon Entertainment, who are developing the movie, told The Hollywood Reporter, "We believe that Hampton Fancher and Michael Green have crafted with Ridley Scott an extraordinary sequel to one of the greatest films of all time. We would be honored, and we are hopeful, that Harrison will be part of our project."
Harrison is already re-living his glory days with his current project, reprising his role as Han Solo for the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII.
Elizabeth Olsen Nervous About Starring in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’

Elizabeth Olsen is nervous about starring in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The 25-year-old actress is one of the new stars to join the cast of the superhero movie - in which she will play the Scarlett Witch, alongside newcomer Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who will portray Quicksilver - and worries she has not had the same opportunity for character development as returning cast members.
"It is intimidating going into a production where everyone has their characters fully fleshed out and they know their weaknesses and they have their comedy. Aaron and I don't really have the luxury of time to develop those," she said.
The returning cast includes Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

Philip Seymour Hoffman Will Not Appear via CGI in ‘Mockingjay’
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Lionsgate, Action, Adaptation, Science Fiction, Sequels, Celeb News, Filmmaking, Obituaries, Rumors, Upcoming Releases,
Philip Seymour Hoffman will not be digitally recreated to appear in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.
The actor tragically died in February of a heroin overdose before he could complete the sci-fi film and director Francis Lawrence is determined to include the star in the scenes he couldn't complete, but will not settle for digitally enhancing his image into the movie.
"We finished the majority of his work. I think he might have had eight to 10 days left on our schedule. In most of those scenes, Phil didn't have any dialogue. We are going to put him into those scenes, but we're only using real footage. We're not creating anything digital or a robotic version of him," he said.
Shortly after his passing, studio Lionsgate, who is making the movies, said Philip would be recreated for scenes using CGI effects. Producer Nina Jacobson said they may give some of the star's character, Plutarch Heavensbee's, lines to other characters, but said that would happen "only in circumstances that we are able to do that without undermining the intent of the scene."

‘Alien’ Artist H.R. Giger Dies
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: 20th Century Fox, Horror, Science Fiction, Celeb News, Obituaries,
Surrealist artist H.R. Giger - one of the driving creative forces between 1979's Alien - died today in Zurich after complications from a fall.
The 74-year-old Swiss was known for his dark but brilliant fascination in humanity's relationship with machines. Having been brought to Hollywood by El Topo director Alejandro Jodorowsky to work on his unrealized Dune, Giger went on to work in sci-fi films like Alien, for which he won an Oscar (it's worth noting that his designs for Jodorowsky's Dune were still used in David Lynch's 1984 film adaptation).
